GOOD NEWS WE OVERCAME

There's a distinctly un-festive atmosphere this year, but nonetheless, we've got to keep the Christmas spirit alive.

"And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn."- Luke 2:6‭-‬7 KJV

The event referred to in the above scripture is one that leads to the salvation of mankind. After the angel of God prophesied to Mary that she would carry the Son of God (Luke 1:1-38), Mary indeed fell pregnant. During the time of a census that was taking place, Mary and Joseph went to Bethlehem to be counted there because Joseph was a descendant of David. When they arrived in Bethlehem, there was no room for them at the inn because of the crowds that had come to Bethlehem. They were forced to find accommodation in a keeping place for animals. While they were there, Mary gave birth to our Lord Jesus.

Please note the lowliness of the place God chose for His birth. As a King, He could have chosen to manifest as a privileged ruler, but He intentionally chose to be born in meekness like one of us. He set aside His divine privileges and He gave up His glory to be born in a keeping place for animals. There is a reason His birth was not high-profile or in the most elegant of places, however. His humble birth conveyed an amazing message to all mankind. He wanted lowly people like us to have free access to Him. This was to welcome us to His kingdom.

When we celebrate Christmas, we need to be reminded that God left His comfort and riches in heaven and subjected Himself to being poor and owning nothing just so that we can have access to Him and His glorious riches. This is how important you are to the Father. Jesus was carried in the womb and was born through natural means as a dependent new-born like us. Can you imagine the kind of love that drove God to become human just for you? Christ manifestation was a reflection of God's character and heart.

The Lord humbled Himself so that the scripture in Isaiah 61:1-2 may come to pass in our lives. Those who have received Him are no longer poor; their lives are now enriched. Most of us ran to Him with broken hearts and the merciful Lord mended them back together. He assumed a lower position so that captives are set free, and we are free indeed. We were blind but now we can see. He came to restore all that was lost and to bring favour and goodwill upon mankind.

He paraded the forces of evil in defeat, and this is the reason we must celebrate Christmas. May you enjoy all the benefits of the cross keeping in mind everything that the Lord went through for you in the name of Jesus Christ!

Take note: Be safe on and off the roads remember to apply the Covid-19 precaution measures and most importantly stay blessed, this year is almost over and we know most of us have our hopes up high for the next year but whatever it may be let's all stay strong and be prepared for whatever it throws at us because worry has no transformational value. #HappyHolidays #HappyFestiveSeason #BestWishes #Family #StaySafe
